A little gem. The most amazing Thai food. Crumbled crispy catfish salad was amazing, sliced papaya salad had some heat and chewy noodles, thai ribs in an delectable sauce and a sea food combo (scallops, mussels, squid, shrimp, octopus) in a mild yellow curry, we ate like queens. No liquor served but unsweetened Thai tea was perfect. Extensive menue.
Awesome food, vegetarian friendly. We ordered peanut curry with veggies , stir fried vegetables with cashew and green curry with veggies.
The food was great in the remodeling on the outside looks wonderful I'd recommend it to anybody
Went here on a whim after a snowboarding trip. Absolutely THE BEST Thai food our group ever experienced. This place is a hidden treasure. Food was amazing and hand made to order. The service was also incredible. We will absolutely be back anytime we are in the area.
I could write a lot but its best you try this place yourself. Delicious and reasonably priced.
Incredible, authentic Thai food. Be warned. When they say Thai spicy, they MEAN it! So happy we found this place.
After a long day of Hiking both my wife and myself decided to grab something to eat. Came along this Thai restaurant, spring rolls was slamming the pad thai ehhhhh but the panang curry was great. Get the thai ice tea. Will come back to dine once we do our next hiking trip.
Service I give 2 stars. Food I give 5. We are never given an option of where we want to sit. They always say they get busy in the evenings, we have never experienced this. Sometimes we wait 5 or 10 minutes for someone to bring us a menu. And this is when they are not busy. We often order take out there, and their food is amazing. For dining out, I highly recommend for dining in, I don't like it.
Found this place yesterday. The staff is very friendly and the food was sooo good. We will definitely be going back. And just so people know when the menu says spicy, it's definitely spicy. My brother learned that the hard way haha.
I want this place to be great, it just isn't. It feels like the owners have given up trying to make fresh, good tasting Thai food. It's a little blah sadly.
I wasn't expecting much when I walked in- every Thai place I've been to in the northeast has laughably mild Thai food. I usually tell them to make it as hot as they can, and end up with a vaguely spicy dish. Not here. I was advised that they bring in their own peppers, and the result was the hottest thing I've eaten in 10 years, which is saying a lot for someone who's looking for hot. It was tasty as well, and you can see them making it- you know it didn't come off a warmer. It's my new preference for Thai in the area.
I’m so happy I found this place. Food is absolutely amazing. So much flavor and fresh ingredients. Owner is super friendly and you can tell he enjoys what he does. Pricing is very reasonable especially for the portions. I highly recommend trying this place out.
To be completely honest, I was a little hesitant after walking into the humble and very unassuming interior... until I heard the mortar and pestle being used in the kitchen. (That's a great sign the curry pastes are being made fresh.) Wasana's easily has the best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand. Everything ordered exceeded my expectations. Will definitely come back when visiting Catskill again. Wish this was in Philly!
Thai food has a delicacy other Asian foods lack. Incredibly delicious, distinctive display of sauces. The simplest food enhanced by made-on-demand sauces. I'm going back.
Always excellent. I've been there many times.
The catfish salad is wonderful. Most everything is too. We eat here frequently.
They are certainly hard-working in there , aiming to get your order right and satisfactory. The food was really good. As others have said, if you want some unique original Thai items, this is the place.
The food is absolutely delicious!
Totally leggit thai place, don't let the white guy serving fool you into thinking its not
The best Thai food I've ever had. Everything(sauces etc) made fresh. Wait time was long, because of it, but the food was sublime.
Passing through before long drive back to the city and found this homey place. Started off with Thai iced tea which was disappointing since it was not iced down properly and had a tad too much condensed milk. The Tom yum would have been great if they didn’t overlook the pieces of chicken (tasted like rubber). Pad Thai was not your typical tangy Pad Thai, but mild with overcooked rice noodles. The basil fried rice hit the spot with the right amount of heat, but the rice was too soft. Overall, it was not as the other reviews said but average IMO.
This was the second time that I've been here since my move to New York. I absolutely love this place. The atmosphere is so elegant. The food is so delicious. The service is amazing .
Pretty good food here! We tried spring rolls, some rice based dishes, rice noodles and fried banana. The items we had here are among the best Thai food we have ever tried.
Tasty meals and dessert! Good service 👍
People touching uncooked food with no gloves and touching everything else. Small portions. Go to chopsticks instead
Excellent Thai cuisine...great service, too. We'll be back again soon!
What a surprise! This family owned gem is low on ambience and high on taste! The crunchy catfish is outstanding! As are their spring rolls and Pad Thai. The flavoring may be a little different than you are accustomed to but give in to it and discover delicious taste. I watched the cook prepare each piece of my meal individually from scratch from my table in their open kitchen. Fantastic.
Tasty food with a very homemade vibe. Service casual but prompt. Interior a bit shabby. Glad we came, but probably won't look to return soon. A 3 is fair, but would have given 3 1/2 for the spicy cucumber salad and the yummy steamed spring rolls.
This place might still take the cake as the most authentic Thai food I've had in the US (I lived in Chiang Mai for 3 years). It's one of the best restaurants in Catskill – even though you may not think it just seeing the outside.
Best authentic Thai
This is a wonderful authentic Thai restaurant run by a lovely couple. In order to keep prices down when it isn’t busy they are often understaffed so be prepared to enjoy your time with friends and I wouldn’t recommend if you’re in a rush. This is not a get in and out fast food place but rather a quality food that is prepared fresh with attention to detail in an environment that makes you feel at home. I have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. Everything is incredibly delicious.
I was there once- and this charming monk was grinding spices right there in the in the dining room and the food was good. The second time I went was during the winter a couple years ago- and it was the worst meal I’ve tasted in this country. The only meal I’ve ever tried that was worse was at an Indian restaurant in cambodia.
Food was good, service was great!
Spring rolls and chicken wings are a must! The restaurant always smells wonderful. We tried the cucumber soup with our appetizers which was plenty flavorful with the pork. Still a hometown favorite!
Freshly made foods, lots of vegetarian options, byob. Causal and reasonable prices.
Delicious. The ambiance is simple but the dinners and appetizers are delicious. No liqueur license however, you can bring your own beer or wine, maybe a nice Chardonnay to go with the many dishes served with rice. We have been there six times. We will go again Saturday.
I love this place. I'd give it 5 stars if the decor was fixed up a bit. The food however is excellent. Cooked to order by Wasanna and Harold the owners. Never fast, sometimes slow, always worth it. There are several Thai places within 15 minutes of my house, I don't like them, I drive an hour each way to eat here.
My noodles came as in one giant ball, and had to be separated with a hammer and chisel, with about 6 various vegetables. My other dish was ok at best. Would have gotten 3 if both dishes were half the price they were.
The lady ,or the owner is rude. Was thinking of going again, but not because of that attitude, she was expressing rudness while I was dining with my kids few months ago.
This place is amazing! And has the best spring rolls ever! Glass noodles and all!
Great service and tasty
Amazing food and service, like always. Just the right amount of spice and very filling. The iced Thai Tea is fantastic and a must try. We always come to Wasana's when we're in Catskill.
Always excellent. Wonderfully delicious food, served by great company. Never have to think twice about coming by.
Awesome food and service. COVID safety protocols need work.
Amazing Thai food – authentic, fresh, and always delicious. I've probably ordered seven or eight different items from the menu and everything has been good. It's definitely worth checking this place out if you're a Thai food fan!
They will make any menu item vegetarian upon request. Homey service and authentic food.
Great Thai food run by a lovely couple. Not a super fancy place, but very pleasant and perfect for a family weeknight dinner or lunch out with a friend or colleague. Good vegetarian selection.
Fantastic authentic Thai food. Will make it as hot as you can tolerate (the hottest uses carolina reapers).
Had the food there it was amazing .. cury shrimp eggeplant ... I can’t be more happy, piping hot and in a timely fashion ...
